Shrinking forests

Letter July 03, 2025
Shrinking forests

Pakistan is facing significant environmental challenges due to widespread deforestation. The rapid loss of forests is harming the ecosystem, contributing to climate change, soil erosion, and loss of biodiversity. Deforestation has severe consequences, including increased greenhouse gas emissions, reduced water quality, and negative impacts on wildlife habitats.

It is essential to take immediate action to protect and restore our forests. Effective measures can be implemented to prevent deforestation and promote sustainable forest management. This includes strengthening conservation laws and enforcement, promoting reforestation and afforestation efforts, and raising awareness about the importance of forests.

Together, we can work towards preserving Pakistan’s natural heritage for future generations. I urge the government to take prompt action to address this critical issue.
