In the heart of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, a critical healthcare crisis silently unfolds, leaving tens of thousands of villagers in Nizampur and the surrounding 36 villages of Illaqa Khwarra without access to essential medical services. A Category D hospital, initiated in 2015 with the promise of alleviating suffering, remains a desolate shell — a stark symbol of neglect and bureaucratic inertia.
The unfinished Nizampur hospital is devoid of doctors, paramedical staff, diagnostic equipment, beds, and vital medicines. This critical deficiency forces impoverished patients to undertake arduous journeys of 40 to 60 kilometers to hospitals in Nowshera, Mardan, and Peshawar, often at immense financial and personal cost, and sometimes, with tragic consequences.
This protracted delay is particularly alarming given the urgent healthcare needs of the area. The continuous suffering of the local populace underscores a critical failure in governance and a palpable lack of interest from elected representatives. Both provincial and national assembly members, entrusted with the welfare of their constituents, appear to have sidelined this vital project, leaving a vulnerable population in dire straits.
On behalf of the people of Nizampur, I appeal to the Honorable Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and other concerned quarters to take action. Their immediate and decisive intervention is not just requested but demanded.
