The condition of infrastructure in and around Lahore is worsening, especially in areas along GT Road such as Shadara, Muridke, Kamoke, etc. The combination of broken roads, an unhygienic environment, and the lack of traffic control is putting the lives of thousands at risk daily.
Most roads are either damaged, full of potholes, or left half-repaired for months. During rainy weather, waterlogging makes these roads even more dangerous, increasing the chances of accidents. Despite repeated complaints, no action seems to be taken by local authorities.
Garbage is often found scattered in residential streets, near shops, and even at bus stops, giving off a foul smell and attracting flies and stray animals. This not only pollutes the environment but also spreads diseases, especially in crowded localities like Malik Bazar Stop in Muridke.
In areas like Malik Bazar Stop and THQ Stop (Muridke), the traffic situation is also extremely poor. There are no traffic police, signals, or proper road guidance. These stops are always overcrowded, and people, especially students and elderly pedestrians, face great difficulty in crossing roads safely.
I urge the government and relevant authorities to take urgent action regarding road repairs, waste management, and traffic infrastructure. Our nearby cities and towns deserve the same attention as the main areas of Lahore.
