The gas crisis currently grappling Pakistan, especially Balochistan, is still comprehensible in winters because of increased usage everywhere. But unfortunately, a gas crisis during summers is creating immense complications for people, particularly for women. This is because women are relegated to cooking and household chores the entire day and are solely responsible for preparing food for their families.
Cooking during summers is already a hassle due to the heat and the gas crisis is increasing women’s troubles.
Gas load shedding also makes it impossible to manage these chores effectively while enjoying the prepared food as well as gas disappears at 10 pm. The authorities must attend to this critical problem and resolve the issue of the unavailability of gas, at least during the summers.
