Merit-based system

Merit-based system

Scholarships are currently only given to students who score considerably high marks, but this can be detrimental to a lot of students’ progress. Many students who are unable to score well due to various reasons do not have money or facilities to continue their education. If scholarships are only for high scorers, many hardworking students from poor backgrounds will never get a chance to build a better future.

Many students face poverty, health issues or family problems. Students in Balochistan and rural Sindh especially study in tough conditions but are eager to learn and if given a chance, they too can succeed. Moreover, many schools lack skilled teachers, appropriate books, and even electricity. Scholarships should consider struggle and hard work, not just marks.

We should adopt a system where everyone, regardless of their backgrounds, gets a chance to study. Education is the key to success, and no student should be left behind just because of their marks.
