Our Olympic star

Our Olympic star

Pakistan’s Olympic star, Arshad Nadeem, has qualified for the final of the men’s javelin throw at the 2025 Asian Athletics Championships in Gumi, South Korea. He threw an impressive 86.34 meters on his very first attempt, placing him at the top in Group A and easily securing his place in the final.

This is his first big event after winning gold with a historic 92.97m throw in the Paris Olympics last year. He is also recently awarded Best Asian Athlete by the Asian Athletics Association, which shows how much he has achieved. Another Pakistani, Yasir Sultan, has also made it to the final from Group B with a throw of 76.7m — a proud moment for our country.

Only five athletes are representing Pakistan at this championship, and yet we are making headlines. Arshad is not just competing; he’s aiming for gold again. As he said in his own words, “I do not compete with anyone else — my competition is with Arshad Nadeem himself.”

This dedication and mindset is exactly what our youth needs to see. With over 2,000 athletes from 43 countries taking part, Pakistan is hoping for another medal thanks to Arshad’s hard work and form.

After this, he’ll head to England for the World Championship preparation, but for now all eyes are on May 31, when he will compete in the final at 1:10pm Pakistan time. Let’s support him and pray for another golden moment for Pakistan.
