The educational system in Balochistan remains a concerning situation since decades in aspect of pedagogical enrichment across the region. The primary causes are notably poor infrastructure, ghost teachers, unfavourable learning atmosphere, lake of fundings and social and economic disparities such as poverty and inequality.
The lack of well-trained and graduated teachers is also a leading cause for the current academic status quo of Balochistan. Many educators in schools and colleges are students themselves, which raises questions about the employment of underqualified staff in educational institutions.
Graduated and skilled professionals on the other hand disapprove of jobs in private institutions due to meagre pays and instead prefer opting for government institutes. The problem thence lies in the appointment of teachers in government institutes who continue to draw salaries without taking any classes — a perfect example of ghost teachers.
Therefore, it is essential that teachers in training understand the value of spreading knowledge and prioritise education over money. The government should impose strict laws and deduct money from the salaries of those who are dishonest with their jobs. Only then will the educational landscape witness substantial change.
