Endangered markhor

Markhor, Pakistan’s national animal, is a majestic and endangered species that requires our immediate attention and conservation efforts. Found in the mountains of the Himalayas and Karakoram ranges, Markhor plays a vital role in maintaining the ecological balance of its habitat. However, it faces numerous threats including habitat loss, poaching, and human-wildlife conflict.

Human activities such as deforestation, mining and infrastructure development have led to habitat destruction and fragmentation, making it challenging for the Markhor to survive. To protect this incredible species, we need to adopt a multi-faceted approach that includes habitat conservation, anti-poaching efforts, community engagement, and research and monitoring.

Protecting Markhor is not just about conserving a species; it’s about preserving Pakistan’s natural heritage and biodiversity. By taking collective action, we can ensure the long-term survival of Markhor and its habitat for future generations.
