Jujitsu victory

KARACHI:

Pakistan has made us proud once again at the Asian Jujitsu Championship 2025 held in Jordan, where Bano Kausar Butt won a gold medal by defeating India’s Richa Sharma in the 48kg women’s contact jujitsu final. This win was not just a medal — it was a strong message of strength, talent and spirit from our nation’s athletes.

Along with her, Pakistan’s performance throughout the tournament was remarkable. M Ali Rashid and M Yousuf Ali bagged bronze medals in the dove men’s category, while Isra Wasim and Kainat Arif earned bronze in the dove women’s category. These wins gave Pakistan a strong and positive start in the competition.

Khalil Ahmed Khan, Chairman of the Pakistan Jujitsu Federation, said, “These medals prove our athletes can compete globally. Credit goes to the coaches, players and support staff.” These words ultimately highlight the importance of teamwork in sports and encourage sportsmanship in the younger audience as well. Moreover, at the closing ceremony, Tariq Ali, Secretary General of South Asian Regional Jujitsu Association, praised our women and young athletes. He said, “This is a proud moment and a step forward for jujitsu in Pakistan.”

The championship ended on 25th May 2025, but the feelings of pride it brought will last much longer. Our athletes have shown the world what Pakistan is capable of. Let us support them more so they can shine even brighter in the future.
