KARACHI:
Turbat, one of the hottest regions in Balochistan, is once again reeling under unbearable temperatures. Despite the scorching heat, the residents continue to suffer due to relentless and unjustifiable loadshedding. In this modern era—when the world is powered by technology and life is driven by electricity—it is deeply shocking that a city like Turbat is being denied its basic right to uninterrupted power supply.
Every summer, the mercury in Turbat soars to dangerous levels. This year is no different. Yet, while enduring such extreme conditions, households are still being billed an outrageous Rs50,000 per month for electricity they barely receive. How is this fair? Is this the justice the people of Balochistan deserve?
What makes this situation even more unacceptable is the silence of relevant authorities. The Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) and all concerned institutions must be held accountable. It is their duty to ensure fair treatment and basic amenities for every citizen, regardless of their geography.
The federal government, WAPDA, and all energy-related authorities need to take immediate and effective action to end this injustice. The people of Turbat deserve better.
