Drug addiction is a significant issue in Balochistan that is actively affecting many people. Not only does it impact individuals, but it also affects society both directly and indirectly. People who are swept away in the world of drugs face several mental health crises as well as physical health problems that make it difficult for them to re-enter society.
According to recent reports, more than 7% adults in Balochistan are engaged in drug use which is higher than the cumulative national average of 5.8% in Pakistan.
The crisis of drug addiction in Balochistan is rampant and needs immediate attention from the government. Relevant authorities should enforce laws and implement strict rules to curtail the rising rate of drug addiction. Moreover, individuals who sell drugs should also face strict penalties to help reduce and condemn drug abuse.
