Electricity outages

Electricity outages

The Chandio neighbourhood of Karachi is currently drowning in darkness, heat and despair, with no one to take accountability of this severe crisis. Despite paying my electricity bill honestly and on time, I am punished with over 10 hours of load-shedding daily, even as the scorching heat in Karachi becomes unbearable.

Our homes have turned into ovens, our nights into torture. This is not just about inconvenience — this is suffering. Our fans don’t work, our water tanks remain empty, our food spoils in the fridge, and our children cry through sleepless nights. What kind of life is this?

Even if it is being done due to power theft in our locality, is it fair to punish innocent bill-paying citizens for the crimes of others? If someone is stealing electricity, it is the job of the authorities to identify and catch them. Why should honest families suffer daily agony?

The situation in Chandio Village is becoming dangerously tense. People are mentally broken, emotionally drained, and physically exhausted. On behalf of the people of Chandio Village, I appeal to all the authorities concerned: Take action now. Restore power fairly. Protect those who are doing the right thing. Show us that justice still exists.
