Aerial firing is a growing menace in various parts of Karachi, especially during the late hours of the night. What once was a rare occurrence, now seems to have become a regular and dangerous practice, causing widespread fear and distress among law abiding citizens.
It is not uncommon to hear bursts of gunfire echoing through residential areas particularly during weddings, celebrations, or even without any apparent reason. These acts not only disturb peace but also put countless lives at risk. There have been numerous reports of injuries and even fatalities caused by stray bullets, yet little to no serious action has been taken.
Despite repeated appeals by citizens and media coverage, there seems to be no concrete effort to curb this reckless behavior. The residents of this city have long suffered due to lawlessness, and this continuing trend of aerial firing is just another example of state failure. The relevant authorities must take immediate and strict action against those involved in this criminal activity and restore a sense of security to the people of Karachi.
