KARACHI:
Eid is supposed to be a joyous occasion, but for many, it becomes a time of financial struggle. People from lower-income households face significant challenges during this season as they are unable to afford basic necessities, let alone sacrificial animals, new clothes, and Eid gifts for their children. Parents often feel pressured to provide for their families, but financial constraints make it increasingly difficult.
A single breadwinner finds it difficult to support a large family in these times of high inflation and an exorbitant cost of living. This can often lead to stress and feelings of disappointment and despair.
Therefore, it is essential for those who have the means to seek the less fortunate in their community and help them. By doing so, they can become a source of happiness and relief for others. Furthermore, the government should also take note of this issue and allocate funds for poor families so they too can experience joy on this auspicious occasion.
