KARACHI:
An alarming incident occurred recently in Turbat that has raised several questions about public safety and security. Three armed men robbed the main branch of a bank during daylight, looted around Rs2.5 crore, and escaped easily. This incident happened in the main bazaar, which is the busiest area of Turbat city.
Unfortunately, this was not the first incident as another branch of the same bank was looted in the city a few days ago. These repeated incidents raise grave concerns about the city’s law-and-order situation, as well as the effectiveness of our security systems. If such a large amount can be stolen in the middle of the day from a guarded bank situated in the main bazaar without immediate response and resistance, then surely no one can feel safe.
A serious investigation must be conducted by police authorities and these criminals must be apprehended to restore the public’s trust. Furthermore, to prevent future tragedies, the security system must be upgraded — especially in high-risk areas.
