Lack of underpasses

Lack of underpasses

No doubt due to CPEC, a daylong journey has turned into one that takes merely a few hours, and the corridor also plays an important role in improving the economy of our country. But locals living alongside CPEC have been left stranded due to its presence, as access to farms that are located on the other side has been blocked. Consequently, these farms have turned barren as a result of remaining uncultivated.

The planners ignored the passages of locals while constructing CPEC. Particularly, the people living near WRS 109 in a sub hilly area cannot access farms on the other side and are suffering due to lack of proper passage. A water channel near WRS 109 can be used as an underpass to alleviate the situation, if silt and gravel is removed from it.

Moreover, an underpass near the rest area has also been blocked by a mud dike. In case of heavy rain, the accumulated water creates a lake-like appearance, which could pose a risk to the CPEC. There is a dire need to remove the mud dike and allow rainwater to pass through the underpass and enable the locals to use it as intended.
