Electricity loadshedding

Letter April 30, 2025
Electricity loadshedding

Kohi Goth is a small town located in Malir, Karachi. Loadshedding has become the biggest problem for the residents in Kohi Goth and this matter is not being paid attention to by any relevant authority. Electricity loadshedding used to be a frequent occurrence in the area but over time, the electricity supply has almost completely ceased. In the span of 24 hours, the area receives electricity for barely 5 hours.

This is actively affecting both residents as well as business owners as it is not feasible to run generators for an entire day. Gradually, electricity has almost vanished. The shopkeepers are the most affected because they are unable to sell ice cream and cold drinks and milk packs. The government is requested to take note of this issue and urge relevant authorities to be fair in their business practices regarding the livelihood of people.
