Water crisis

Water crisis

Despite being a metropolitan city, Karachi continues to suffer from a severe water shortage, forcing residents to rely on private water tankers that charge outrageous prices. This water mafia exploits the public’s desperation, delivering water at high rates while many poor families cannot afford even a single tanker.

The failure of the water board to provide a regular supply has only made the mafia stronger. Meanwhile, countless gallons of water are reportedly being wasted or stolen from government lines.

It is the duty of the authorities to break this monopoly and ensure fair and consistent water supply to all citizens. Strict action must be taken against illegal water hydrants, and proper planning is needed to improve the city’s water infrastructure.
