The ongoing heatwave has made it increasingly difficult for citizens to stay hydrated, and subsequently, the lack of accessible water coolers in public places has become a serious concern. Children, the elderly, and especially daily wage workers such as rickshaw drivers, and labourers are at high risk of heat exhaustion due to the unavailability of cool drinking water.
With temperatures soaring, this issue needs urgent attention. Authorities must install water coolers at key locations and ensure they are properly maintained. Community-driven initiatives can also help provide relief during extreme weather. Access to clean, cool water is a basic necessity, and steps must be taken immediately to safeguard public health.
