Outdated textbooks

The customary textbooks that are approved for the students of Balochistan raise significant concerns regarding the quality of education being provided to them. Many of the textbooks being used are completely outdated — not only do they lack adequate and useful knowledge about the modern technological world, but they also have incorrect information about several political topics.

Computer textbooks still revolve around topics such as ‘how to refresh a computer’, ‘what is a floppy disk?’, and even ‘how to install Windows 98’. First, students struggle to obtain these textbooks in the first place. And when they do, they face a shortage of teachers who are qualified to teach even the outdated material.

In other parts of the country, and the rest of the world, students are well aware of the latest technologies, geopolitical realities, and information about the modern world. If our current standard persists, it will severely impact the education sector in the near future. To compete globally, the education sector must update its curricula, adopt new strategies to address deficiencies, and equip students with relevant soft and hard skills.
