Saviours or?

Saviours or?

Doctors are called life-savers, but in Hub Chowki, they seem more interested in making money than applying a healing touch. When I was down with a kidney ailment last month, the doctor I consulted charged Rs2,500 just to see me for five minutes. He prescribed several expensive tests, and when I returned with the results, I had to pay another Rs2,500 to see the doctor again.

Doctors in our town generally lead a luxurious life while their patients suffer. They drive expensive cars and build big houses, all charged from the sick and vulnerable. This exploitation must stop. There should be a law that one consultation fee will cover all follow-ups for the same illness. We need a healthcare system to heal people, not to bankrupt them.
