University Road repair

University Road repair

The construction work on University Road in Karachi has been dragging on for months, with no signs of completion. Instead of improving traffic flow, the prolonged construction work has made the situation worse, causing severe inconvenience to residents and commuters alike.
One of the worst-affected areas is the Samama market, where the incomplete road has turned rush hours into a nightmare. Poor road condition forces drivers to take alternate, often unsafe, routes, leading to congestion, chaos and an increased risk of accidents.
The disruption is not limited to traffic alone. Several homes along the road have been facing permanent internet disconnections as telecommunication infrastructure had been removed during the construction process. Residents have been left without stable connections for work, studies and daily communication.
Additionally, the excessive dust and pollution caused by the ongoing construction and heavy traffic have turned the environment even worse. Karachi already struggles with pollution, and the situation on University Road is only making it more unbearable for people in the area.
Despite months of road closures and construction work, there seems to be no visible progress. In fact, the repairs appear to have created more problems than solutions. The authorities need to take immediate action to complete the construction work as early as possible and provide relief to the affected people.
