As the world rapidly moves towards digitalisation, Turbat remains woefully behind. Despite being the second largest city of Balochistan, Turbat is denied access to education in modern technology as well as training facilities. This has resulted in a severe shortage of skilled IT professionals, hindering the district’s economic growth and development. The root of the problem lies in the limited number of IT institutions and the lack of qualified instructors. This has created a significant gap in the district’s ability to provide its youth with the necessary skills to compete in the modern job market.
The relevant authorities need to take immediate action to address this issue. Establishing technology education and training institutions, recruiting qualified instructors and providing scholarships to deserving students can help bridge the gap. The youth of Turbat have the right to be equipped with the necessary skills to thrive in the digital age.
