The way forward

To capitalise on AI’s benefits, Pakistan must prioritise AI literacy by integrating AI education into academic curricula and incentivising AI research through government and private sector collaboration. Regulatory frameworks must be developed to ensure responsible AI usage while promoting innovation. AI is not just the future; it is the present. Pakistan’s ability to integrate AI into its economic and governance structures will determine whether it remains a passive observer or an active participant in the global AI revolution. The time to act is now.
