PEC accreditation

PEC accreditation

Despite passing the final exam back in December 2024, the 20th batch of the Civil Engineering Department of Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, SZAB Campus Khairpur Mirs, is yet to be accredited by Pakistan Engineering Council i.e. PEC. This delay has thus rendered the whole batch ineligible for any government positions.
When it comes to personal grievances, university professors and teachers show unprecedented unity. For instance, they boycotted the classes in protest against a recent bill passed by the Sindh Assembly allowing non-teachers to apply for the post of vice-chancellor. And here, a whole batch of 60 students is left at the mercy of PEC accreditation and nepotistic departments, and none of the teachers are bothered. Moreover, the batch members have also been informed that PEC accreditation will be granted no earlier than April 2025, which further exacerbates the situation. The higher authorities must look into the matter as early as possible.
