These days, load shedding of electricity in Turbat town of Balochistan has brought life to a grinding halt. The citizens are forced to endure an unbearable schedule whereby electricity is only available for six hours a day, fragmented into three 2-hour slots. This woefully inadequate power supply is having far-reaching consequences. Hospitals are struggling to provide critical care, schools are unable to conduct classes properly, shops and businesses are shuttered, and factories lie idle. The most vulnerable members of our society, including students, are bearing most of the brunt. They are being denied their fundamental right to education, forced to sit in darkness, waiting in vain for the power to return.
It is puzzling that Turbat, despite being a major town of Balochistan, faces such severe loadshedding, even during the winter months when the demand for electricity is relatively lower. This raises serious questions about the management and distribution of electricity in the region. It is imperative that the provincial government and the relevant authorities take immediate action to address this crisis. We demand an end to loadshedding in Turbat and a reliable, uninterrupted power supply system that meets the needs of our community.
The people of Turbat have suffered for far too long. It is time for the government to take concrete steps to resolve this crisis and restore normalcy to our lives.
