Un-enrolled children

Un-enrolled children

The situation of out-of-school children in Balochistan is indeed alarming. According to recent reports, around 70% of children in Balochistan are out of school, with girls being disproportionately affected, accounting for approximately 78% of out-of-school children. The actual number of out-of-school children in Balochistan is estimated to be between 1.8 million and 2.2 million, roughly equivalent to 28 lakh.
The reasons for this situation are multifaceted, ranging from a lack of access to schools, particularly in rural areas, to poverty and cultural barriers. Additionally, the education system in Balochistan faces numerous challenges, including inadequate infrastructure, a shortage of trained teachers and outdated curricula. Therefore, the government of Balochistan must take serious action to address this critical issue.
