A recent tragedy occurred when a migrant boat sank in the Atlantic Ocean, killing at least 44 people, most of whom were from Pakistan. This incident highlights the desperate measures people take to escape poverty and insecurity. Many young Pakistanis are attempting to migrate to Europe, risking their lives crossing the Mediterranean or Atlantic in search of a better future.
The Pakistan government must take concrete steps to combat human smuggling, create jobs and improve economic conditions. It is essential to address the root causes of migration by providing alternative livelihoods, improving education and healthcare and promoting economic development. We must act now to prevent further tragedies and ensure that young people have a brighter future in their home country.
