The condition of the Government Boys School Lasbela requires urgent attention. The strength of students at the school is 100, and there is just one teacher to cater for them. It goes without saying that this teacher-students ratio is inadequate — to say the very least. And how could a lone teacher do justice to all subjects, especially the fundamental ones like Urdu, English, Maths, General Science and the vernacular language. There should at least be five teachers at the school for the process of teaching to be conducted in a proper manner. One more issue is that the students are in different levels of knowledge and understanding and need to be treated differently. But it’s not possible given that a single teacher is dealing with all of them.
That education is the fundamental right of every citizen goes without saying. But the authorities continue to deprive our children of this fundamental right. It is about time we thought about our children who are our nation’s future. The Government of Balochistan must act now.
