KARACHI:
Finally the Men in Green made history by defeating South Africa by 36 runs in the third one-day international (ODI) at Wanderers Stadium in Sandton on Sunday, thereby making an unprecedented clean-sweep of the Proteas. Remember, this is the first time ever that South Africans have failed to win even a single match in a home ODI series. Their previous drubbing was 1-5 against Australia in 2002.
While the entire team made an excellent effort, young opening batter Saim Ayub deserves special mention for his remarkable performance right through the series — something that earned him the Player of the Series award. That’s indeed a proud moment for the entire nation.
