Unnecessary restrictions

Unnecessary restrictions

In a country already grappling with an economic and political crisis, survival has become increasingly difficult for the masses. Pakistan is losing its talented youth, who are relocating abroad for better opportunities, while those who choose to stay and make a difference are thwarted by a government that consistently hinders their progress, particularly with the imposition of strict internet restrictions. The government’s attempt to block Wi-Fi and restrict access to VPNs has particularly affected freelancers who rely on the internet to secure assignments from clients abroad.
Restricting access to Wi-Fi has no impact on political gatherings. Thousands of people, including freelancers and patients, endure the hardships of these measures, left stranded on streets blocked by containers. Who can we blame but the so-called “ingenious” minds behind these nonsensical policies? These actions not only tarnish the country’s image and economy but also cost lives.
