Disciplinary issues

Discipline issues are highly disruptive to educational institutions’ learning environment. Academic discipline issues refer to behaviours or actions that go against the laws and norms of the institution. These issues can include bullying, sexual harassment, cheating, excessive smartphone use, fighting with peers, and refusal to follow teachers’ instructions.
Bullying is a significant discipline issue faced by institutions. Insults are also often exchanged between students in schools, universities, and other educational settings. Sexual harassment is a grievous issue that is especially common in universities. Many students have tragically taken their own lives due to sexual harassment. Although many students face such harassment, they are often afraid to speak up. Sexual harassment in higher education institutions has become a major social issue. Teachers, who are traditionally seen as mentors or guides, unfortunately, sometimes exploit their authority to mistreat students. The use of smartphones during class for personal purposes is another significant discipline issue. While smartphones can be valuable tools for learning, excessive use in the classroom can disrupt the learning environment. Many students now use advanced technology, such as smartwatches, to cheat. Another issue is the occurrence of fights and quarrels between students.
It is clear that such issues have a negative impact on academic institutions and the learning environment. Therefore, it is crucial to implement effective strategies to address these issues.
