Balochistan, rich in natural resources, including natural gas and minerals, ironically faces a severe gas crisis. Despite having abundant gas reserves, the people of Balochistan struggle to access this essential utility. The province’s gas fields, particularly Sui, have been supplying gas to other regions while leaving Balochistan with insufficient supply.
This disparity has severe consequences for the residents of Balochistan. They face unbearable living conditions, especially during harsh winters, and rely on hazardous alternative heating sources. Local industries and businesses also suffer due to the gas shortage, exacerbating economic hardship. Furthermore, the lack of access to clean energy poses significant health concerns.
We urge the authorities to address this injustice and resolve the gas crisis in Balochistan. To alleviate the suffering of the people, we recommend prioritising the province’s gas needs, reallocating gas distribution to Balochistan, and developing local gas infrastructure to further facilitate the masses.
The people of Balochistan have endured this inequality for far too long. It is crucial to address this longstanding issue and ensure that Balochistan receives its rightful share of gas. We request immediate action to resolve this crisis.
