Sad story of Balochistan

Sad story of Balochistan

Balochistan is rich in natural resources and is blessed with gold, silver and copper deposits, but its people lack basic necessities like gas, electricity and clean water. It’s unfortunate that the people of Pakistan’s biggest province are suffering from poverty, illiteracy and backwardness due to the government apathy.
The health and education system in the province is in a shambles. While there is a serious shortage of schools, those that are functioning lack proper infrastructure as well as teachers. The situation is rural areas is even worse as students have to study in open air. As for healthcare facilities, there is nothing much to write home about. Even in the provincial capital, Quetta, the situation is so bad that at times patients have to be rushed to Karachi.
Moreover, there is nothing that could be described as civic infrastructure. Even big cities and towns are devoid of black top roads. And those that are available are in need of urgent repair.
Balochistan is a sorry saga of government negligence — something that is breeding discontent, despair, hatred and acrimony among its people. The helmsmen need to pay an urgent attention to the plight of the people of Balochistan.
