Critically ill-patients need ventilators, but they are not available in the required number at both the government hospitals in Islamabad – i.e. Pakistan Institute of Medical Science (PIMS) and Polyclinic Hospital. Serious patients thus have to wait for their turn, and unfortunately some of them succumb while waiting.
I can feel the pain of losing near and dear ones just for want of a machine called ventilator: my younger brother, who was 38 years’ old, died a premature death because a ventilator was not available for him. I request the authorities to make ventilators available in the desired number at least at major hospitals of the federal capital as well as in other parts of the country.
