The Quadrilateral Summit held in Wilmington, Delaware, on September 21 brought together the leaders of the US, India, Japan and Australia, indirectly highlighting concerns about China, which is involved in territorial disputes with India and several Southeast Asian countries. Its rapid military expansion raises security concerns for both the US and India, while its growing economic power poses challenges for many nations. In contrast, China’s relationship with Pakistan is often described as an “all-weather friendship,” characterised by strong economic and military cooperation. Both countries frequently align their foreign policies against common concerns, especially regarding India. Despite some domestic challenges, this strategic partnership remains robust, emphasising mutual support against external pressures.
