In the digital age, access to the internet and reliable network connectivity has become a basic necessity. In fact, it has evolved into a fundamental right for citizens. Unfortunately, many rural areas in Sindh have been left disconnected from the digital world due to poor service from mobile network providers.
Residents of Khairpur district, in particular, are facing significant issues due to the lack of mobile network coverage. University students in these areas are unable to meet their online educational needs, leaving them at a severe disadvantage. While other countries are working towards providing free, high-speed internet, areas like Union Council Layari of Kotdiji Tehsil in Khairpur district have been experiencing slow mobile service for the last two years. More specifically, in the past three months network services have all but disappeared. Despite repeated attempts to engage with the companies responsible, no action has been taken to resolve this critical issue. People continue to spend millions on mobile packages hoping for better service, but their efforts are in vain. It raises the question as to who is responsible for this ongoing loss?
I call upon the Chairman PTA and other relevant authorities to take immediate action. Mobile companies must be held accountable, and public complaints must be taken seriously to ensure the provision of this essential service to all citizens.
