Social media addiction

KARACHI:

The excessive use of TikTok and other social media platforms is a pressing concern that affects the well-being of our citizens, particularly the youth. It goes without saying that this increasing addiction carries far-reaching consequences for the whole society. The constant use of TikTok is leading to a decline in reading habits, critical thinking and meaningful interactions among our youth who spend hours scrolling through their feeds, unaware of the potential harm it can cause to their mental and emotional health. According to experts, prolonged use of social media can cause increased stress, anxiety and depression.
