Skyrocketing electricity bills and huge taxes are crippling the common man. The new measures taken as part of the budget have hit the inflation-stricken public like a bombshell. The issue has now gone beyond merely struggling to pay bills, which many now find impossible. Jamaat-e-Islami has held multiple protests and sit-ins to pressure the government into providing relief, but these efforts seem to have been in vain.
Despite the government’s repeated promises of relief, a solution remains elusive. However, there is an urgent need to address this crisis, by whatever means necessary. The adoption of solar energy and other affordable energy sources appears to be a feasible solution and must be implemented without delay. Despite the darkness, we must hold onto the belief that every cloud has a silver lining. The government cannot resolve this crisis alone. It affects everyone, and we must come together as a community to navigate this difficult time. We must recognise the value of our resources and make every effort to use them wisely.
