KARACHI:
Jamshoro is not a big city of Sindh though, it’s significance of being an education city is of pivotal stature. University of Sindh, Mehran University of Engineering and Technology and Liaqat University of Medical and Health Sciences are located in this city, making it a habitat of thousands of students from across the country.
Unfortunately, this city lacks a dedicated bus-stand for public transport, due to which, the Public Service Vehicles use Indus Highway N-55 as their terminal in routine. The commuters of this busy highway face great problem while passing through Jamshoro city under the flyover, which connects Jamshoro and Hyderabad with Indus Highway. Particularly, the north-bound track of highway remains occupied by busses and vans all the time, which becomes a fatigue for other commuters due to crowd, trespassing and extremely narrow passage.
The proactive role of the District Commissioner Jamshoro is highly praiseworthy, who has been working tirelessly in such a challenging district, which is scattered over a vast area. I want to bring the bus-stand issue to his notice so that the district administration should take steps to resolve it in public interest. Moreover, the district administration and top brass of University of Sindh can jointly work to address this issue. If the land beside the petrol pump of University of Sindh is the property of this University, it can be utilised as a proper bus terminal. The prompt action in this regard can rid thousands of travellers of this problem.
