As a concerned citizen, I am deeply troubled by the deteriorating state of education in Pakistan. Despite efforts and investments, the quality of education continues to fall due to ineffective governance, corruption and inadequate funding. This has left schools lacking in infrastructure, qualified teachers and essential resources, hindering students’ academic growth and perpetuating poverty. Outdated teaching methods further compound the problem, failing to equip students with the skills needed for success in the modern world. Gender disparity remains a pressing issue, with cultural barriers denying millions of girls access to education.
Urgent reforms are needed to address these challenges, including increased transparency, investment and inclusive policies. Modernising curriculum standards, adopting innovative teaching methods and investing in teacher training are crucial steps towards ensuring quality education for all. Education is a fundamental right and a key driver of progress and prosperity. It is imperative that we prioritise education and work together to build a brighter future for Pakistan.
