KARACHI:
Untreated water is a major problem in our cities. The rate of seepage of polluted water is increasing by the day. It is making ground water unfit for the drinking, resulting in a number of diseases in infants, thus causing a high infant mortality rate. The maternal health is also being affected by the consumption of untreated water. Additionally, diseases like cholera, diarrhoea, dysentery, hepatitis A and typhoid are getting common among children. The issue needs to be addressed on an urgent basis.
