KARACHI:
On completing our matriculation from Awaran, I and some of my friends decided to go to Quetta to complete our intermediate studies, as the city is considered the best option for those willing to become doctors. But the city turned out to be too expensive. Even a single room, too small to accommodate all four of us, was available for no less than Rs20,000 per month. Besides this, we were also asked to deposit some amount as advanced payment. It goes without saying that students hailing from remote areas like Awaran are in no position to afford such a hefty amount to be spent on accommodation. As a result, a large number of those aspiring for further studies end up being mere matriculate. I request the government to construct hostels for students to be available at a reasonable price. This would mean a lot to needy students like us.
