KARACHI:
Sialkot — the city of Iqbal which is famous for manufacturing sports goods, surgical equipment, etc and having its own airport, dry port and airlines — lags far behind in educational development of youth. Only one public university is available in this 13th most populous city of the country. There are a few private universities in the city, but they lack the requisite standard in teaching and research, besides being unaffordable for many. Under the circumstance, students have to migrate to other cities for higher education. Since some parents don’t allow their children, especially girls, to migrate to other cities or countries , they can’t study further. I request the government to pay attention to this important issue.
