Healthcare workers

Healthcare workers

KARACHI:

Healthcare workers face various challenges in their line of work. Some common ones include long working hours, high levels of stress and physical and emotional strain. They often have to make difficult decisions and deal with intense situations. Additionally, there can be a shortage of staff and resources in some healthcare settings. Despite these challenges, healthcare workers remain dedicated to providing the best care possible.

Healthcare workers have to find various ways to manage stress. Some methods include practising self-care activities like exercise, meditation or hobbies after work. Unfortunately, their mental, physical and emotional health are not supported by their workplaces. It is, therefore, extremely important that their professional rights along with personal needs are protected and supported. They must be paid well, as healthcare workers are around the world. Moreover, they must be given the benefit of free-of-charge mental health support and value-added family medical insurance. It is crucial for our government to put in place extra state support so they can add to the healthcare system of the country.
