Drugs in Kohi Goth

Drugs in Kohi Goth

KARACHI:

Kohi Goth is a small town located in Malir, Karachi. The locality is a hub of criminal activities such as robbery, mugging and drug dealing. Drug dealing, however, remains the most threatening issue in the region, as it grips people easily due to monetary attraction. Not only does it pose a threat to the locals, but the students are significantly affected as well. This is because young students are more vulnerable and tend to be easily lured into activities that offer a monetary return or introduce them to social liberty and escape. It is a contagious social infliction and maligns the young generation before we realise it.

We, as a community of Kohi Goth, have come together and taken initiatives. Our people have tried to inform the local police, but it appears that the police are equally involved in the crime. It is commonly known that they take bribe and extortion from drug dealers in return of a space to operate in the locality. The provincial government and local NGOs must take note of and address this nuisance immediately so our youth are prevented from potential destruction.
