Lawlessness in Larkana, Sukkur

Lawlessness in Larkana, Sukkur

KARACHI:

Larkana and Sukkur divisions have plunged into chaos, which is reminiscent of lawlessness in the region. In broad daylight, educators like Allah Rakhiyo Nandwani are ruthlessly slain for simply seeking to educate, while dacoits have carved out territories where even law enforcement, such as the police and rangers, hesitate to intervene. Those within law enforcement who muster the courage to confront these dacoits and their allies find themselves either abducted or killed, leaving the populace bereft of security. Elected officials have failed miserably in their duty to uphold order, and both police and paramilitary efforts have faltered. Tragically, reports of innocent individuals being kidnapped and murdered are all too frequent.

It is confounding that these dacoits target only the vulnerable, seemingly exempting the sons of influential figures like tribal chiefs. This glaring discrepancy raises serious questions about their motives and the unequal treatment within society. Despite the severity of the crisis, the media, police and government maintain normalcy, neglecting the gravity of the situation.

It is now imperative for stakeholders to break silence and take decisive action against the pervasive corruption and violence. While they swiftly defend their own interests against corruption allegations, they remain conspicuously silent in the face of flagrant lawlessness. It is, therefore, essential for the people of Sindh to unite and resist these criminals and their supporters, spanning from Karachi’s streets to Kashmore’s rural areas.
