KARACHI:
Balnigwar, in the Kech District of Balochistan, consists of 33 villages, yet lacks the essential facilities like hospitals, roads, and educational institutes. The absence of hospitals in Balnigwar, particularly, poses a serious challenge to the residents. In emergencies, people end up losing lives when immediate healthcare is unavailable and they have to travel as far as 95 kilometers to Turbat for treatment. The necessity of hospitals cannot be overstated, yet Balnigwar’s inhabitants endure the burden of missing this essential amenity.
The absence of healthcare is worse for conceiving women that are among the most vulnerable population. When immediate aid is unavailable at the time of birth, in addition to adequate healthcare during pregnancy, a large number of babies are either lost or born with deformities.
During elections, promises are made by politicians to address these issues, but they fail to deliver after securing votes. This cycle leaves Balnigwar’s people in continued suffering without tangible remedies. As a resident of Kech, I urge the government to promptly address these issues and take necessary steps to alleviate our suffering.
