KARACHI:
Karachi’s roads are progressively worsening, leading to frequent traffic jams, increased accidents and damage to vehicles. Potholes, bumpy surfaces and deteriorating infrastructure not only make commuting a harrowing experience but also contribute to the loss of precious lives through accidents.
Additionally, they result in heightened vehicle maintenance costs due to damages, contribute to traffic congestion and cause delays in reaching one’s destination. The declining road infrastructure also poses economic challenges for businesses and industries. The transportation of goods and services has become more difficult, resulting in higher costs and inefficiencies in the supply chain. The poor road conditions dissuade potential investors impeding the city’s economic growth and development.
In certain areas, the situation exacerbates as piles of garbage continue to accumulate, resulting in the growth of germs and emitting unpleasant odours that contribute to illnesses. I earnestly implore the government and relevant authorities to take prompt and decisive action by prioritising and expediting the essential repairs and maintenance of Karachi’s roads.
