Inflation crisis

Letter January 14, 2024

TURBAT:

The inflation crisis in Pakistan is affecting the socio-economic condition of middle-class families, making it difficult for them to provide for their children. Recent data illustrates the severity of the issue, with the inflation rate surging to 29.2% in November 2023, up from 27% in October 2023.

The historical average inflation rate in Pakistan stands at around 8% from 1957 to 2023. This economic strain further increases the challenges faced by labourers, making it difficult for them to meet the basic needs of their families. Urgent interventions are crucial to alleviate the socio-economic burdens on the middle class and create a more stable economic environment. Grassroot development is the need of the hour.
